The Whip Mix Xcavator is an automated divesting unit for the dental laboratory. It removes investment from cast and pressed work inside an enclosed cabinet using glass bead media of 50 to 100 microns, fed from a jar fitted with an electric bead dryer belt that warms the beads so moisture does not cause clumping. A depth-of-cut selector sets the cut for different investment types. Whip Mix describes the process as taking the mould to about ninety-five percent divested, with the remainder finished by hand, and fits a debris drawer below the cabinet.
