Planmeca Emerald S Intraoral Scanner

The Planmeca Emerald S is an intraoral optical impression scanner used to record the topographical characteristics of the dentition, full arch and preparation areas, including features such as implant scan locator fixtures and orthodontic brackets, as well as oral soft tissue, gingivae and palate. The three-dimensional model generated from a scan may be used for study models and for the design and manufacture of dental restorations and frameworks, and in the production of orthodontic appliances. The scanner connects to a host computer through a USB-C cable and takes a removable scanning tip. Planmeca specifies a Class 2 laser operating between 400 and 700 nanometres.
