Planmeca Emerald Intraoral Scanner

The Planmeca Emerald is an intraoral optical impression scanner that records the topographical characteristics of the dentition, full arch and preparation areas, including features such as implant scan locator fixtures and orthodontic brackets, together with oral soft tissue, gingivae and palate. The three-dimensional model generated from a scan may be used for study models and for the design and manufacture of dental restorations, implant-supported prostheses and frameworks, and in the production of orthodontic appliances. The scanner takes a removable scanning tip, which Planmeca instructs be cleaned and processed separately from the base of the scanner.
